Patricia White

Patricia Faye Ragan White, 67, of Tulsa, passed away peacefully at Clarehouse in Tulsa on Saturday, July 13th, surrounded by her children, friends and family after a two and a half year battle with Leukemia. She was born October 1, 1945, in Norman, OK, to Faye (Hartman) Ragan and William B. Ragan. Patricia ?Patty? grew up in Norman and in 1966 married the late Richard Hayden White. They divorced in 1978. Patty discovered a love for Latin in High School. She went on to earn her degree in Education from the University of Oklahoma and her Masters degree from Tulsa University in English Literature. She taught Latin at Norman High School and then at Memorial High School in Tulsa. After taking a 25 year hiatus from teaching, she taught at Westmoore High school in Moore and Edison Preparatory School in Tulsa until her illness made her unable to continue teaching. Patty was an amazing Latin teacher and loved dearly by her students. She enjoyed the kids so much and used her energy and creative talents to make learning fun! Patty made a career change and began working in advertising in 1979. She worked for a variety of advertising agencies before beginning her own company, The Write Stuff. She continued in business for herself until 2003 when she returned to her love of teaching. Patty biggest joy was as a mother and grandmother. She could make anyone laugh and always had a smile to share. She leaves behind her two children, Richard Raymond White of Tulsa and Ragan Layne White Jessell of Stillwater; their spouses Stacey Curtis White and Timothy Scott Jessell; her beloved grandchildren Anabel Elizabeth White and Davis Neal White of Tulsa; and Abby Layne Jessell, Benjamin Scott Jessell and Molly Suzanne Jessell of Stillwater; sister-in-law Patricia Smith Ragan of Norman; nieces Elizabeth Ragan and Patricia Tillman Ragan of New York. She was preceded in death by her brother Tillman James Ragan and her parents. Patty never knew a stranger and always made you feel like you were the only person in the room. Her gift of making a person feel special and loved will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clarehouse of Tulsa, 7617 S. Mingo, Tulsa, OK 74133, where Patty spent her last days in peace and comfort. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 2218 E. 56th Place, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C.
