Phyllis Hays

Phyllis Elaine (Hotsenpiller) Hays age 70 beloved mother, Nana and nurse passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Maplewood Care Centers in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Phyllis was born February 18, 1941 in Versailles, Missouri to Herschel Hotsenpiller and Agnes (Homan) Hotsenpiller. She worked as a licensed practical nurse. Phyllis enjoyed reading about Civil War stories; she liked to write stories and poems. Phyllis liked to cook and spend time with her family members. She will be missed by family, friends and by her dogs and long time companions, "Francy" and "Buddy". She was preceded in death by her parents: Herschel and Agnes Hotsenpiller, her brother: Frank Hotsenpiller and her sister, Mary Lee Dalton. Phyllis is survived by her four sons: Kenneth Porter of Mansfield, Texas, Leslie Hays II of Phoenix, Arizonia, Michael Hays of Arlington, Texas, John Hays of Mansfield, Texas; her three daughters: Paula Brown of Austin, Texas, Margo Hanks of Phoenix, Arizona, Jane Hall of Jenks, Oklahoma; her sister: Bonnie Dicks of California, her nephew, Larry Dalton and his wife, Rebecca of Barnett, Missouri. Final resting place for Phyllis will be at Emerald Hills Cemetery in the Garden of the Mausoleum in Kennedale, Texas. I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and across the skies flashed scenes from my life. In each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One was mine, and one was the Lord?s. When the last scene of my life appeared before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand, and to my surprise I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints. And I noticed that it was at the lowest and saddest times in my life. I asked the Lord about it. ?Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way. But I notice that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don?t understand why you left my side when I needed you most.? The Lord replied, ?My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, where you see only one set of footprints, I was carrying you.?
