Robert Parker

Robert William Parker passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK at the age of 72. Everyone knew him as Bob. Bob was born on June 24, 1941 in Pueblo, Colorado to William H. Parker and Doris McKinney Parker. He was the oldest of four sons. After graduating from Haviland Academy High School in Haviland, KS in 1959, he attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS. There, he earned a Bachelor?s Degree and moved to Tulsa to start work. In August 1964, he met Jody Holmes and they were soon married on October 2, 1964 in her hometown of Wewoka, OK. Bob became a Certified Public Accountant and was a successful, self-employed CPA for approximately 35 years. He and Jody moved to Jenks, OK in 1968 and forged lifelong friendships with many of their neighbors. Growing up on a farm led Bob to enjoy living a busy life. Whether he was building something, working in the yard, fishing, watching sports on TV or just taking a walk, he always had something to keep him busy. For many years, he was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Jenks and served as the club?s treasurer. He also had a lifelong love for animals. He will be remembered as a kind, honest and friendly person. Most especially, he will be remembered as a wonderful and loving dad. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Doris Parker, and his brother, Charles. Bob is survived by his wife, Joanna, and his daughter, Kelley, both of Jenks, his brother, Gerald Parker and Gerald?s wife, Judy, living in Indianapolis, IN, and his brother, David Parker and David?s wife, Angela, of Bella Vista, AR along with other family members and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be Friday, September 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel. Bob?s nephew, Chris Parker, will officiate. Interment will be at City of Bixby Cemetery, Bixby, Oklahoma. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt?s Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
